Becausethewritingtimeof"OldTangBook"wasrushed,sometracesofcopyingfromTangrecordsandnationalhistorycouldnotbeerased.Therearemany"DaTang","thisdynasty"and"JinShang".Typeface.WhenSongQiwaitedforthenewrepair,allthesenondescriptwordsweredeleted.Thismakesthe"NewTangBook"appearmuchmorecompleteandrigorousthanthe"OldTangBook"intermsofstyle,brushworkandstyle.Inaddition,the"XinTangBook"alsosummarizedthenamesofbiographies,suchasmergingtheminorityShiTanggeneralsintothe"ZhuYiFanGeneralBiography";groupingtheseparatisttribesandtownstowritetogether,andsoon.Inthisway,itmakestheeyebrowsclearer.

Textualresearchonhistoricalmaterials
BecausetheNorthernSongDynastywasrelativelypeaceful,thereweremanyhistoricalmaterialsthatwerenoteasilycollectedduringthewar,whichwerecollectedandsortedintheearlyyearsoftheNorthernSongDynasty.Accordingtoexpertestimates,SimaGuangxiureferredtoasmanyasthreehundredhistoricalmaterialsin"ZiZhiTongJian".Thecompilationof"XinTangShu"and"TongJian"werecloseintime.WhatSimaGuangsawwasthatSongandOuwereboundtoSee.Forexample,the"LiJiBiography"addedin"XinTangShu"recordstheattitudeofthepost-LiWucontroversy,andthedifficultyofFangXuanLing'stheoryofpreservationisbeyondthereachof"OldTangShu"andotherbooks.Others,suchas"Shihuozhi"of"Xintangshu",addedmaterialssuchastheTangDynastyTuntian,Helai,miningandmetallurgy;"Geography"recordstheirrigationconditionsoftheriversandcanalsandthelocalproductsofvariousstates,andtheyarealsohisPrecioushistoricalmaterialsrarelyseeninbooks.
OuyangXiuwasstillawell-knownmasterofgoldandstoneatthetime.Hehadalotofresearchonancientgoldandstonestudies.ThemostfamouscaseisthatheusedKongYingda'sinscriptiontoverifythefactthatthisoutstandinghistorianoftheearlyTangDynastyhadwrittenaword.Allthesemake"XinTangShu"evenbetterinsomehistoricalfacts.
Innovativestyle
"XinTangShu"wrote"Bingzhi"and"ElectionHistory"forthefirsttime,systematicallydiscussingthemilitarysystemandimperialexaminationsystemoftheTangDynasty,suchasthemilitarysystem.Thisisagreatcreationoftheofficialhistorygenrehistorybooksofourcountry.Ithasbeeninheritedbythe"SongHistory"andothers,andpreservedmanyvaluablehistoricalmaterialsofourcountry'smilitarysystemandemploymentsystem.ThelistsofprimeministersandFangZhenin"XinTangShu"alsoprovidereaderswithacluetotheriseandfalloftheclanofprimeministersintheTangDynasty(familyfamily)andtheebbandflowofthepowerofthevassaltown.
ThefamoushistorianWangMingshengsaidin"DiscussiononSeventeenHistory":"Thenewbookisthebestinthehistoryandtable."Thisisafairevaluation.AfterSimaQiancreatedthechronology,table,chronicle,andbiographyhistorybooks,fromtheWeiandJintotheFiveDynasties,thehistoriansandthetablelackedabriefhistory,andtheintegrityofthisstylewasrestoredinthe"NewTangBook".Laterhistorybooksofdynastiesfollowedthissystem.Thisisalsoagreatcontributionof"Xintangshu"inthehistoryofourcountry'shistoriography.
