Introduction
This volume discusses the development of mathematics in China from the middle of the Qing Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It was about 130 years from the opening of the library in the 37th year of Qianlong to compile "Si Ku Quan Shu" to the end of the Qing Dynasty mathematics education system in the early 20th century.
The development of Chinese mathematics in this issue can be roughly divided into two stages. Among them, the translation and publication (1859) of the eighteenth volume of "Daiweijishiji" can be broken. In the previous stage, the compilation and research of "Shujing Tenshu" and Song and Yuan mathematics masterpieces laid the foundation for the revival of traditional Chinese mathematics. Then there appeared outstanding mathematicians and representatives such as Jiao Xun, Wang Lai, and Li Rui. Its outstanding achievements in traditional Chinese mathematics. On the other hand, this stage inherited the knowledge of logarithm calculation and logarithm table construction, and the power series expansion of trigonometric functions introduced to China during the Kangxi era, and conducted in-depth and systematic research. Outstanding mathematicians represented by Mingda, Dai Xu and Li Shanlan and their outstanding works in the field of modern mathematics. In the latter stage, Li Shanlan and Wei Lie Yali translated the eighteen volumes of "Daiweiji Shiji", and Hua Hengfang and Fu Lanya translated the ten volumes of "Jing Dou Mathematics" (1880), etc., showing the comparative system of Western modern mathematics knowledge. Introduced into China.
